Chicago Rhythm & Rhymes
"I don't want nobody that nobody sent."
—Unknown Chicago Alderman
This is a musical and poetic portrait of Chicago. Miles has woven together the voices of the city into his own poetic narration. Representative work includes jazz by Duke Ellington, blues by Robert Johnson, poetry of Gwendolyn Brooks and Carl Sandburg, observations of Nelson Algren, Mike Royko and John Prine.
Produced by Pegasus Players Theatre and in cooperation with the Chicago Sister City International program, the debut performance for Chicago Rhythm and Rhymes was in Casablanca, Morocco in October 2002.
Current performances feature Miles as a soloist, or working in small ensemble.
