“Will You Give Us a Tune,
Uncle John?”
Miles joins forces with a selection of musicians to share their opening introductions to music making. As if at a house party, each musician tells a story, plays a tune from the past, and something from the present. At the end, all the assembled musicians collaborate to create a sound that is at once imported, and all about making a home, in Chicago.
Featured Players:
Geraldo deOliviera, percussion
Tony Dale, drums
Jackie Allen, vocals
Chris Walz, guitar and piano
Williams Sims, saxophone
Al Ehrich, bass
Michael Miles, banjo, guitar, vocals
This show debuted at the 2005 Chicago Humanties Festival.
